Flammability Test Instruments
ON-1 / ON-2M / ON-3T / MVSS-2 / MVSS-3 / ER-1 / UL94 / CS-1S / GW-1
Flammability Testers that complies with USA automotive safety standards of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), Consumer Product Safety Comission(CPSC), UL94 standard, Canvas Products Association International (CPAI), and other international standards such as ISO, JIS, IEC.
Flammability Test Instruments ON-1 / ON-2M / ON-3T
Test standard : ISO 4589-2, JIS L 1091, JIS K 7201-2
The minimum oxygen concentration required for burning plastic materials is measured, combustibility (flame retardancy) is determined, and the oxygen index is evaluated by OI (Oxygen Index).
ON-1 is a flow meter system.
ON-2M and ON-3T are mass flow controllers.
The ON-3T is equipped with a touch panel, and the OI value of the ISO default Dixon up-and-down method can be easily calculated automatically.
As an option, there are JIS K 7201-2 compliant U-shaped holders, JIS L 1091 compliant U-shaped holders, and pellet holders specified by the Fire Service Act as holders for test pieces that cannot stand on their own.

Flammability Test Instruments MVSS-2 / MVSS-3
Test standard : ISO 3795, JIS D 1201, FMVSS No.302
MVSS-2 and MVSS-3 measure the horizontal combustion rate of organic materials used in the interior materials of automobiles and aircraft.
- MVSS-2 complies with FMVSS No.302 (Federal Motor - Vehicle Safety Standard) and SAE J369a.
- MVSS-3 complies with ISO 3795, JIS D 1201.
- MVSS-1 is a specification only for the combustion box without a control panel, such as a flame contact timer, flame height adjustment, and gas supply switch.
- MVSS-2Z complies with Appendix F of the Airworthiness Examination Guidelines supervised by the Aircraft Safety Division, Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.
JIS D 1201: 1994 is compliant by adding a burner for testing dripping material and a partition plate as options.
Flammability Test Instrument ER-1
Test Standard : CPSC 16CFR1610, JIS L 1091
Based on the US safety standard CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) 16CFR1610, the burning rate of textile products is measured.
A 16 mm long flame is indirectly flamed for 1 second on a test piece (about 5x15 cm) held at 45 °, and the time required for burning to the top of the test specimen is measured.
Flammability Test Instrument CS-1S
Test Standard : CPAI (U.S. standard), JIS L 1091
Textile products such as children's bedding are tested vertically. The flame by the default burner is contacted for a certain period of time, and the residual flame time, residual dust time, burning time of the droplets, combustion length, whether the flame penetrates the test piece, etc. are evaluated.
Flammability Test Instrument UL94
What is UL94?
A flammability test for plastic materials for electrical components, as specified in the UL94* standard issued by Underwriters Laboratories, the U.S. product testing and certification organization. The following six types of tests are available depending on the grade of flame resistance and the material of the test specimen.
1) Horizontal Burning Test: HB
2) Vertical Burning Test 50W (20mm): V-0 / V-1 / V-2
3) Vertical Burning Test 500W (125mm): 5VA / 5VB
4) Plate Specimen Burning Test 500W (125mm): 5VA / 5VB
5) Thin Material Vertical Burning Test: VTM-0 / VTM-1 / VTM-2
6) Foamed Material Horizontal Burning Test: HBF / HF-1 / HF-2
The judgment criteria are the burning speed, after-flame time after flame contact, after-dust time, degree of burning of the specimen, presence or absence of dripping material, and presence or absence of ignition by dripping material, etc., to determine the respective grade. *UL94 = Standard for Tests for Flammability of Plastic Materials for Parts in Devices and Appliances
